The fish oil we use is sourced from a variety of wild fish species and is a by-product of either the fishmeal or edible canning industries. No fish are caught for the exclusive production of oil.
Protecting our marine environment is an important issue to DSM. We are committed to the responsible and sustainable use of natural marine resources and sourcing fish oil from regulated fisheries where equipment, practices and procedures are in place to protect fish stocks. DSM ensures that no species of fish from which MEG-3® fish oils are produced are endangered according to the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) Red List of threatened species, nor are they listed on the CITES (Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species) appendices I-III.
